The first Meteoritical Society meeting was held in 1933.

The Meteoritical Society

The Meteoritical Society is an international organization dedicated to the promotion of research and education in planetary science with an emphasis on the studies of meteorites and other extraterrestrial materials that further our understanding of the origin of the solar system.

The Society was established in 1933. Our members come from over 50 nations and include scientists and enthusiasts.

HOST CITY and venues

Frankfurt am Main is the host city for this year’s Meteoritical Society Meeting. Frankfurt is a very international city and offers a unique mix of old and new. From its modern skyline to historic landmarks like Römerberg, the city provides a vibrant and welcoming setting for MetSoc 2026.

The conference will take place at several venues, all located in the heart of Frankfurt am Main and easily accessible by public transit or foot.
